Your top two colors should form a clear picture of your personality. Which traits describe you? Are there any that don’t fit your personality? Now, look at the descriptions for your second-highest color. Look at the descriptions of each True Color on page 3. It’s okay if you have two top scores that are the same. The color where you got the highest score is your True Color. When you have completed all five rows, add up your score using the directions at the bottom. It’s very important that every row has a 4, 3, 2, 1 (it’s a common mistake!). Do the first row together and make sure everyone understands the instructions. The True Colors test is a good way to share information about who we are and learn about our classmates. We’re going to spend a lot of time together this term and work together closely at times. The image is released free of copyrights under Creative Commons CC0 Estimated time: 50 minutes Objectives: The best version might be from her “Body Acoustic” album. Her ballads are where she delivered her best work. They see the world as a set of systems and are very good at organizing. Cyndi Lauper’s most well known song is “Girls just want to have fun”, and while that is a fun song, I feel it pigeonholes her a bit. Add each column, including TOP ROW for your TRUE COLORS. Cyndi’s unique voice is well matched to this song, and she sings it passionately. Lauper’s “True Colors” works because it has a nice melody and hook with the chorus and it also doubles as a women’s anthem (more of a people’s anthem really). When you show who you really are…your True Colors…Cyndi thinks it is the most beautiful thing you can do. Don’t be bashful or afraid about looking different. If this world makes you crazy And youve taken all you can bear You call me up Because you know Ill be there And Ill see your true colors Shining through I see your true colors And thats why I love you So dont be afraid to let them show Your true colors. It will take courage, but the payoff will be worth it. True colors are beautiful, Like a rainbow Cant remember, when I last saw you laugh. She thinks we need is to all gather our collective strength to show our true (wonderful) selves that we are hiding from the outside world. In “True Colors”, Cyndi sees a world of people, living sad lives.
